By drawing on thirty years of experience in dry raw materials preparation and applying experience and technologies from other sectors with a view to assuring complete control of the quality of the finished product, SBM Machinery has developed complete drying/micronization lines which are extremely advanced in terms of automation, management and operating reliability.
The new Micro-Dry lines have a production capacity ranging from 5 to more than 35 ton/h and have a central core consisting of a dryer/mill machine and a latest generation dynamic separator.
An important result both from the point of view of the plant (more compact line, lower management costs, etc.) and of technology (total lack of pollution) is the possibility of using raw materials with a specific moisture content of 8- 10% and a particle size of 0-5 mm (but with the possibility of using even coarser material), feeding them directly into the mill and thereby avoiding the problems associated with conventional drying systems.

SBM Machinery has developed various types of plants to recuperate the following types of waste materials: 1) Fired pressed projects ; 2) Fired extruded projects ; 3) Unfired pressed projects .

Fired projects, both glazed or unglazed, can be recycled in the existing productive system by means of a plant that has as main machinery a raymond mill or trapezium mill.
Recovering of unfired pressed projects (glazed & unglazed) is an excellent solution for factories that do not have their own raw materials preparation plant and purchase body compositions from external suppliers.
The plant is mainly based on the use of a YGM mill and SCM ultrafine grinding mill complete with calibrated grid which thanks to a suction system installed downstream the mill itself and a dosing device capable of accurately feeding the conveyor belt of spray dried material without causing problems in the successive pressing stage.

SBM Machinery proposes solutions for the processing and milling of dolomite. Thanks to a technology based on the interaction between different machines offered by SBM Machinery, it is possible to realize the dry milling of the dolomite, nowadays used as weighing additive in drilling fluids or muds for petroleum industry.
Dry milling of dolomite
We take as example two samples of dolomite with different SG (4,1 kg/dm3 and 4,2 kg/dm3), milled only with pendular mill: at the end of the milling process, it comes out a material with an extreme fine grain size distribution, whose apparent gravity (calculated on a dm3 of milled material and not on a dm3 of ideal material) will be different between the sample with initial SG of 4,1 kg/dm3 and the one with initial SG of 4,2 kg/dm3. 

The final apparent gravity of material with that grain size distribution is absolutely identical to the one shown by types of dolomite with SG of 4,2 kg/dm3, milled only with the roller mill. The couple primary hammer mill + finishing roller mill proposed by SBM Machinery for the dolomite allows to get a milled material 100%< 75 µm, that shows a grain size distribution less fine: this solution makes also the dolomite with SG of 4,1 kg/dm3 suitable for applications in the petroleum industry.
